GOOD NIGHT

Sit with me
Whisper a tale
Upon your laps
My head I rest
The dark hallway
The soft old couch
A window solo
A leak…the moonlight

Adorn my memories
With a sweet innocent tale
Fantasies and fairy tales
Mysteries of the cool night
Wrap my feet with a soft duvet
Cradle my head
Cause me to drift
Your tales so sweet

Clouds of white sail in through the windows
Angels so beautiful lift me upon the clouds
With a kiss goodnight
You push the clouds away
And out of the window I sail
Away from my sweet home
But off to a land of peace and bliss
Good night my darling home
Good night mother earth
Good night to my friends in their beds
Good night to you reading this poem
Good night!

THE EYES THAT SAW THE TRUTH

Secrets well hidden
Mysteries only I knew
Lies only I spoke
A fabrication of the truth
Comfort I found
Living a life of lies
Filled with sweetness and deceit
I never saw you coming
A glass house I dwelled in
But I was careless
I let the kids throw stones
I let my guard down
My fences became invisible
The line I drew…fading white
Eyes that saw through black glass
The eyes that broke the ice
The eyes that threw the largest stone
The stone that brought it all down
The eyes that saw through the lies
Eyes I dreaded
Eyes that could rewrite my story
Eyes that faded all lines
The eyes that forced the truth out of its cage
The eyes that tore the veil
Naked I became
Rid of clothes
Naked and in the cold
Undressed for all to see

THE PAIN THAT TEARS MY HEART APART

Have you ever tasted a restrained sob
No? Well I have
You don't get to taste d salt of your tears
All you taste is pain
Your throat constricts
Your eyes burn
You wish an end to the stabbing pain in your heart
And you cry out loud without a sound
Your stomach hurts
I look around for a place to weep
Nowhere in sight
Busy streets
Nosy neighbors
A one minute cry
A one million crowd
Steers of pity and curiosity
My mission for peace fails
So my aching legs hurry...hurry...hurry...without taking a break
I cover ground as quick as a rolling ball...
I clench my fists as I hold back another sob
Off off I go
Sweet peace I seek
A place to cry I desire at that moment
A broken heart
A pretty soul
The pain that tears my heart apart
