THE GUARDIAN ANGEL

He staggers forward
The drops of sweat roll down his face
Imaginary drumbeats in his head
He was overworked and under stress
He is the guardian
But this man he protected was hyper
Hyper and energetic
Adrenaline high
Party soaked
Risk hungry
Sin-filled
Annoying and stubborn
Yet he protected him
An assignment of a lifetime
The lifespan of a mortal
A task of a lifetime
The job of a guardian
The job of a defender
A shield for this mortal being
He was what he was
He would work tirelessly
He would protect this human
No amount of stress could drain his divine fuel
He would keep this man safe
Safe until he was called back
Safe until he could give account to the one who created them both
He would be his "forever-shadow"
A task so divine
The task of a guardian angel
